"Hristo Botev" Secondary School

"Hristo Botev" Secondary School is an educational institution with more than 200 years of experience educating generations from north-western Bulgaria. Secondary School Hristo Botev is a member of the Association of Schools - Monuments of Culture, winner of the Orders "People's Republic of Bulgaria" and "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ", as well as the first" Honorary sign of the town of Vratsa "and the Grand Prize for Education of the town of Vratsa. Since 2007, the school has been a member of the Association of Cambridge Schools in Bulgaria, and since 2010 a language test centre
for Cambridge certificates.

Background and experience

One of the oldest in Bulgaria, our school has one of the most up-to-date equipment in the country - A Biology Lab, History Lab, Geography lab and computer labs. A new sports hall has just opened.
The whole variety of classes, ages and interests is the reason why we constantly strive to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers and management - principle and the vice principles as well as the students.
The school offers a full-time training course for over 850 students from the first to the twelfth grade with intensive English language and advanced foreign language teaching in German, Russian, Italian and Spanish. For pupils in primary and lower secondary education, full-time training was introduced. There are 70 teachers, three vice principals - one for primary education, one for secondary and one financial and 30 people non pedagogical staff . High school education takes place in the profiles: natural mathematics - biology and health education and humanities - history and civilization and geography and economics. Since 2019 there is a vocational dual class -Dental Assistant and Specialist in Thermal and spa procedures. The successful realization of each class - / about 95% continues education in higher education institutions / is the result of the hard and consistent creative activity - educational and extra-curricular.
Our students take part in various projects\nd we have partners from almost all of the European countries and the possibility to take part in another project will be of great benefit for the students.
The school is a partner in many projects and as such has successfully implemented the assigned goals. Teachers involved in the projects are experienced in the the development, management and completion of projects funded by the European Union.
Almost all of the teachers have got Master degrees in their subjects and degrees and qualifications in additional subjects relevant to their job. They are proven professionals and thus they take the innovative and interesting from their participation in every project and meeting with their European colleagues and workshops and seminars organised from variety of institutions in the country.
